Before deciding on which television to buy, I did my own research and sifted through the choices until I ended up with two great televisions, particularly a unit this year and last year’s LN40A550, which surely gave me a hard time to choose.

I consistently compared the two in all aspects; however, their features are considerably identical which even gave me a harder time to decide. After shopping around and finding out that the difference between the prices of the two was only $50, I definitely settled on the newer unit due to its contemporary appearance and lighter mass.

In the reviews I came across, one of the main complaints for last year’s unit was the sound quality. I found it difficult to equate and compare this year’s unit to last year’s but I discovered that this year’s LN40B550 has an impressive sound quality, better than most TV speakers.

Other features such as the picture quality, menu, and set up are remarkable as seen in all Samsung HDTVs.

However, one drawback is Wiselink not being capable of recognizing my old USB flash drive. I quickly reformatted the drive thinking that it was the one malfunctioning since my TV was new. Sadly, Wiselink can’t still recognize my flash drive.

It’s likely that the old drive has a configuration that wasn’t compatible to the new programming.

Other than that, my new TV has never disappointed me. I’m waiting for new flash drives to arrive so that I can try hooking it into my TV again. I will update this post as soon as I test the flash drives.

On the whole, this TV is a magnificent one. Try purchasing and you’ll surely get your money’s worth.

It took me 8 months to save in money for a new LCD TV. A 15 day research on the best television in the market led me to buy a LN52A750 worth $2000. However, as I was going to get the unit, the sales person informed me that a lot of buyers returned the unit due to its very shiny screen and advised me to buy the LN52630 instead since it has a non-reflective (matte) screen.

The A630 was very dull and boring in comparison to the A750. However, its very glossy display held me from buying it. Fortunately, my wife saw the B750 which was adjacent the original unit we planned to buy. I stared and compared both for about 30 minutes.

I noted that B750 has shiny screen but not as shiny as that of the A750. I inquired about that television and the sales person informed me that it has an anti glare coating and a semi glossy model. It was the perfect model that I was looking for.

Furthermore, the picture quality seemed very vivid, brilliant, and precise. There is also no motion vagueness in any way.

Although B750 was $600 higher that A750, I didn’t hesitate buying it since the overall features and television of B750 looked better than that of the A750. I paid a total of $2715 inclusive of tax and delivery charges.

When the TV was delivered to us, we didn’t have an HD subscription yet. Thus, the image we saw didn’t impress us that much. The channels and images looked unchanged and we felt as though we didn’t get anything from paying for it at a very high price.

I was looking for the picture quality that I saw when I was shopping for it at the store. I phoned TimeWarner and immediately ordered an HD subscription. The next day, the technician hooked the HD box to the TV with a regular cable.

The TV looked very lucid though it still had ghosting effects that bothered me. The technician recommended that I use an HD component for a better picture quality and signal. I was about to buy it the next day until my good friend suggested to use an HDMI cable instead.

Since my receiver didn’t have an HDMI output, I borrowed an HDMI cable and output from my friend. The HDMI cable was so worth the trouble and worry. It made all the difference. It gave me the picture perfect TV that I saw in the showroom.

The ghosting effect disappeared and I didn’t note even the slightest trace of blurriness. The channels looked astonishingly clear and vivid. I haven’t tested this TV on Blu ray yet however, I’m pretty confident that the movie will look great.

Another feature of this TV is its ability to connect to the internet. However, I don’t find this of any use to me. The sound quality is better than most HDTVs while the remote is user-friendly and totally easy to use.

In general, I enjoyed using this television. I have never been happier in my entire life for paying for something at such price. I have no regrets for buying this television and I eagerly suggest that you buy the same unit.
